The importance of confidence

  Recently, I have read a very interesting book called ‘The Personality Potion’. I have a deep impression on it. ‘The Personality Potion’ tells us a story of Danny. Danny is scared of Duncan Wicks and scared to audition for the main part in the school play. He is shy and unconfident. However, everything changes when Danny’s uncle gives him a magic potion to bring out his hidden talents.

  The story of Danny shows us that we will be more excellent if we have self-confidence. I think someone that believes in him can change his or personality. In the book, Danny’s uncle uses the personality potion to develop his hidden talents. It is very clever of his uncle to think of the idea. I hope more and more people will do something meaningful as Danny’s uncle does to change their children’s personalities.

  In fact, some children haven’t realized hidden talents inside and sometimes don’t believe in themselves. Because of this, their lives become more and more boring. What’s worse, they are so distant that they don’t have any close friends.

  In my opinion, the children should be more confident with the help of others or by themselves. Confidence is very important in some ways. It can improve children’s lives and help them achieve success.

  After reading this book, I’ll try my best to have faith in myself and do everything better.

I Believe I Can Fly

“I believe I can fly ,I believe I can touch the sky.”  I  can't help singing this song after reading the story –“The Personality potion”.

Danny was a boy who liked detective stories. He was not brave and confident. He was picked on by Wicks who was in the year above and he was afraid of doing the audition. However , he would like to stand up to Wicks and was eager to be the main part in the school play about detective. So Danny turned to Uncle Hal who was an inventor for help. Uncle Hal gave him a bottle of liquid called the Personality Potion that could change him. Then it worked. Danny stood up to Wicks with the help of the Personality Potion. He was looked up to by Laura he loved. However, he managed to finish doing the audition after his Personality Potion smashed. Why? Because there is no magic , just because Danny believed in himself.

As a famous saying goes, “If you doubt yourself, then indeed you stand on the shaky 11th ground.” We should trust ourselves. If we believe in ourselves, we will be braver and have confidence to do anything. When we fail, we should believe in ourselves, too. There are miracles in life. We should be convinced that we will be successful some day. We need to remember the proverb which says“Failure is the mother of success.”

Anything is possible. Just believe in yourselves ,and you will be successful.

  Report of the Personality Potion

The story mainly tells us that a shy boy called Danny who didn’t like his personality found his confidence by ‘the Personality Potion’. As a matter of fact, the potion was a trick, and it aimed to help him to believe in himself.

  In our daily life, we might be him at times. Also, a lot of struggle consist of a part of life, just like ‘Wicks’.

To some extent, in all aspects of human life, everyone has its merits and demerits, which isn’t important. It’s unshakeable duty that we can exploit to the full our favorable conditions and avoid unfavorable ones .

  From my personal perspective, we’re supposed to be confident in ourselves. A man’s life can’t be successful all the time. It’s changeable that we are with or against the wind. During which time, confidence plays a tremendously important role both physically and mentally. In no case will we hang our heads even though the darkness is around us. Raise head, the sunlight will be seen in our eyes. If we doubt at ourselves, nothing can be accomplished. When a quantity of chances run into us, we will hesitate for a long time. Undoubtedly, we missed them again.

  On the contrary, Sufficient confidence will supplies courage to us. Unbelievably we’ll make wise decision and do a good job. If not adequate for it, we can’t believe in ourselves well and fall into sadness.

Change your personality

Do you want to change your personality? If you do, the personality potion will help you.

A few days ago , I read the interesting book. A boy called Danny Dolan used to be shy and not so normal. He didn’t like to go out and always read books at home. He dreamt he was strong; however, the fact was the opposite.

One day, the school was to hold a play, and Danny wanted a main role in it, but he was in short of courage. So the boy asked his uncle Hal---a scientist for help. He got a magic potion from uncle. With the help of he magic potion, the boy turned to another personality, a boy full of courage and pride. He did so many things that were beyond his imagination, which made shock to everyone.

At last, the boy lost the help from the potion, but he succeeded in acting in the play, which is a surprise and a shock to the boy. He got the truth and thanked uncle Hal.

I think there must be some changes inside Danny’s heart, and his life will change a lot afterwards. The story also gives me a lesson, which impressed me a lot.

Nobody and nothing would change our personalities, which is impossible. But do not be upset, we can believe in ourselves and it is the only way to change us inside.

Be confident. Nobody can get success without the confidence, in my opinion, it is the right thing the Danny needs. The magic potion acts as the confidence, which gives the boy power and courage to change his personality. So can we, we can’t have and do not need to have the potion, we need to change our personalities by believing in ourselves.

Have you ever read a story about man and animals, to be specific, a boy and a pigeon?  Yeah, it’s Waiting for Goldie.  I have my own opinions and I feel honored to share them with you.

The main character of the novel is Danny.  Danny made friends with Goldie when it was just a floppy pink chick.  Danny was a kind child who gives up killing the baby hawk.  But today people don’t love animals.  For example, there are many pitiful cats, dogs and other pets wandering in the street and near the dustbins.  Where are their owners and why do they abandon them?  When they come down with some illnesses, the owners drive them out of their house.  These pets can’t live for a long time in a modern city because the city is very dangerous.  If they were crashed into a car, they would become disabled or be dead.  How evil their owners are!  To make things even worse, I heard a piece of news that our government plans to perform an operation on the dogs to make them not bark any more.  I feel very, very angry and sorry for dogs.  In fact, human beings don’t have rights to stop dogs from barking.  People are always regarding themselves the owner of the world because people can invent something.  I don’t know whether people realize there are a lot of clever animals in the world.  Animals can do a lot that people can’t do, for instant, a dolphin can send off sonar to find the direction and a wolf can survive without eating anything.

It’s time for all of us to love animals.  Only when we learn to love animals can we love our parents, our school, our country. So, let’s learn from Danny to love pets.

In the realistic society, with the rapid development of economy, we seem to be less and less trusting of others. We become anxious and always have bad temper. Sometimes, for our own interests, we may sacrifice others'. We are so selfish that we do not know how to show kindness and love the things around us. It is possible that we are often confused about the meaning of LOVE. After reading the great novel whose name is WAITING FOR GOLDIE, we may find that love is always in our hearts.

    Goldie is a racing pigeon who has won loads of cups for her amazing speed. Everyone knows that she is always the champion. One day, Danny must record the time that Goldie returns from a race as Grandpa is in hospital. He thought Goldie would be the first to come back as usual. However, to his surprise, Goldie has not shown up till all the pigeons come back. When Grandpa asks him about Goldie's grades, Danny is too nervous to say anything. Goldie is the pride of Grandpa. In order not to cause another heart attack to Grandpa, he tells a lie. Since Danny is so worried about Goldie, he has a strong desire to get rid of the falcons that might have killed Goldie.

    Danny reaches out his hand to sweep the falcon's nest away, and then he sees the chick that is pink and helpless. It reminds him of Goldie, when she was small and helpless. He finally calms down and leaves the nest behind. However, when he almost reaches the top of the mountain, he falls down and feels sick. Luckily, he finds Goldie and he is so happy that he forgets about being scared. At the end of the story, Grandpa comes home and the pigeon becomes well. Danny's kindness also touched readers. It is a happy ending, I think.

  How can we show our love to others and how can we get along well with nature? I used not to know the answer, but now I have understood. As far as I am concerned, love is always in our hearts. Everyone is able to show their kindness to others. But sometimes, we focus on the person who makes us angry rather than the forgiveness of others. If we could concern about others and understand each other, we will live a happier life. I also think we are supposed to show our love not only to people but also to the animals and the environment around us.
