The Personality Potion

The Personality Potion is a most interesting story. I will tell you something about this story that I like.

The main character Danny who liked reading books about detective series didn’t behave normally in his mother’s eyes. On the way to school, he sat next to Wicks who often picked on younger kids in the playground. Unluckily, Wicks ate Danny’s favorite food fudge bars and Danny started to be scared of Wicks.

When he reached the school, Danny’s teacher Mrs. Morgan had some news for them that anyone who wanted a main part in the school play could come to the audition next Monday. Danny knew he’d be perfect for the part of Bugsy. However, he hadn’t the nerve to try for the part.

On the way home from school, Danny stopped at Uncle Hal’s. His uncle was an inventor and he worked on Personality Potion. He told Danny that it could bring out the hidden talents that no one knew were inside you. After hearing it, Danny held the Personality Potion tight in his hand. On Monday morning, Wicks asked him where the fudge bar was. Danny drank Personality Potion and he became braver than before. So he didn’t give it to him. Wicks was angry and raised his fist, but with others help, Danny survived finally.

Danny waited for his turn to audition. When he went to read, Wicks barged into Danny on purpose. So the bottle spun out of Danny’s hand and smashed in pieces on floor. Danny felt nervous and thought he couldn’t do it. However, when he received encouragement from Laura Mills, he didn’t give up. At last, he succeeded in finishing reading and get the part.

The fact was that the Personality Potion consisted of green food coloring and bicarbonate of soda. What made Danny change was himself.
