No “If”

《弗兰肯斯坦》读后感 指导老师 王菁华

When I finished reading this story, I could not keep calm. Victor Frankenstein could have a bright future. However, he created the monster and he himself ruined his bright future.

The monster was not cruel at first. But people were not kind to him. They shouted at him and threw things and ran away from him. Then the monster thought himself a disgusting creature. He found all men hating him just because of his ugliness. He felt very lonely. He learned to hate people and then he killed many people. If the people had not laughed at him or if they had not judged him by his appearance or if they had helped him when he was in trouble, maybe he would have been kind as the beginning. However, there is no “if”. The people were really cruel to him and the bad things had happened. We can’t change it. So, I think it’s very necessary to be kind to others. If a person is in trouble or is sad, he or she needs comfort very much, we should help him or her instead of leaving him or her alone. A lonely person can do anything terrible, like the monster. So, if we help the people who are sad, we are helping ourselves.

Also, I think we must think twice before we begin doing something. We shouldn’t do whatever we want, which may lead to bad results. Just like Victor , he liked science very much and he created the monster without thinking about the result. At last, he lost his family because of the creation and he ruined his future. We must learn to be clever. Sometimes when we are crazy about something, we may forget anything else. However, this is wrong. It is wise to ask for our family or friends whether the things we decide to do is right. Their advice may be useful and we can avoid many mistakes by taking their advice. They see more clearly than you. Therefore, we should know this and communicate with them. If Victor had done these, he wouldn’t have created the monster. And without the monster, he could also have lived happily with his bride, father, brothers and friend. But there is no “if”. So what we can do? Think twice before action.

Don’t regret when the things happen. There is no “if”. Be careful of the things you want to do.
