Petey by Jiang Yunfeng

Sam is my friend”, was what Petey repeated when he explained why he saved Sam at the risk of being caught.

Recently, I read a story called PETEY, which sets me thinking a lot. Who is Petey? He is a robot who is the main character of this story. What the book told us is a story about how Petey works hard to make himself a human and was to be recognized as a real friend.

At the beginning of the story, Petey is only an old fashioned model.(Please forgive me to name it is a robot here)  However, Sophia  who  was  a school  student  and  her  little brother  treated  him  as  a  friend. Then Sophia and Sam were shocked to find that the robot was trying to make himself a true human by chance (It is amazing, isn’t it?). True friends never betray one another, and it is what Sophia and Sam firmly believe. So, when they read Petey’s mind, they don’t look on it as non-sense nor dismiss it. On the contrary, they devoted themselves to making the robot a real human. They spare no effort to help Petey be away from the master robot. A friend in need is a friend indeed, and in case of emergency, it was Petey who step forward bravely to rescue Sam.

In this article, I benefit a lot. Firstly not only human beings, but also machines, just like robots in this book can have their own feelings. And when we do something, we had better put ourselves in their shoes. It was worth mentioning that Petey behave more than just a human. It is our sincere respect for every thing in our planet that makes the world a harmonious place.

Secondly, friendship is ever-lasting in the universe, for it is beyond time and space. Some of us may seek for a life-long friend all our lives. My dear friends, if you have found one, it is really a blessing, and please cherish him/her.

Last but not least, science and technology is a double-edged sword, and people should not indulge in pleasure. Instead, they should pay more attention to the family.

In my opinion, PETY is a good book. It can not only improve our English, but also it can lead to unlimited inspiration. I sincerely recommend this book.
