Okay, Spanner, You Win by Wang Yang

Today, it’s my honour to speak here. Recently, I have read a book called “Okay, Spanner, You Win’’

It tells me a story which gave me a deep impression. Del is a football player. His dad and friends gave much pressure to him, which he was sick of .On the contrary, his best friends and spanner love football very much. On an important match, Del wanted to lose it. So, he gave the win chance to spanner, which made Spanner a hero now.

Everyone has the right to choose his hobby. Parents for our good will force us to do what we don’t like. Just because they love us. Just like Del’father.; Dad’s voice plays thesame record again and again, saying he loves Del, which on the contrary makes Del feel sick of football. There are many things he likes to do, such as playing on his keyboard, or just messing about. Life isn’t only football. But football occupies all his time.

Yes, life is not just being indulging in a single thing. Life is not just a football, not just apiano, not just painting , not just book learning. But how many parents , how many teachers are there in the name of love, who kidnap the children’s whole life by forcing their children to play football ,to practice the piano to study painting, to practice knowledge. Excessive training for single subject will not only make children lose interest in things that they were once interested in, but also in other things, which in turn makes them lose curiosity and enthusiasm, and even lose hope in life.

At the end of the final, Dad changed his tune, and he encouraged Del to do what he liked. And Del abandoned the idea of quiting , and decided to return to the game .After all, football was his favourite

So, if children have interest in anything, we need to fully protect it, make good use of it and play it well. Avoid trying to benefit from children’s interest, because utility makes us mad, blind and impatient. Meanwhile, excessive exploitation and abuseof children’s interest could backfire over training results .In addition, childrenare human, emotional thinking man of flesh and blood, not a test machine, not arace of machine, nor anyone in the future ,or cold-blooded machines of any system.

All in all, we should treat children as a human and try to make him to be a mature and happy person.
