This book tells an astonishing story about a scientist, Victor Frankenstein who became obsessed with trying to create life.

Frankenstien was from Geneva, in Switzeland. His childhood was a happy one with his parents, his brother, William, his parents’ adopted daughter, Elizabeth and his friend Henry, a boy of about his own age.

Frankenstein fell in love with nature, and he loved to read about it, to study it, to watch the plants and creatures around his home and wonder how they worked. When he grew up, he came up with a strange idea to create a living thing. Then he set out to do experiments. He drove himself so hard and finally, when the thing he created became alive, to his surprise, the creature was nothing of the kind. The skin which covered its face was like dry, yellow paper. Its eyes were dull and its lips black and straight. It was a disgusting monster. No one would accept it and like it.

The monster was left alone. However, he didn’t know how to understand everything in the world. As a matter of fact, the ugly monster was a little poor. He hid in the forest to learn everything. Even though he swore that he was willing to do some good, men still shunned him. All that happened to him led to his swearing vengeance on everyone. First, he killed Frankenstein’s little lovely brother and the innocent Justine was believed to be the murderer and she was condemned to death.

Then everything unfortunate happened one by one. Frankenstein’s friend Henry was killed, Elizabeth who became his wife later was killed. His father died because of much sadness. Frankenstein was full of anger on this hateful monster and he decided to spend his life to pursuit of him.

A blue ending------Frankenstein died and the monster realized his terrible mistakes and on hearing his master’s death, ending his own life.

Although, most of the readers think that the evil monster was a villain, but I think he also had his own pain. He wasn’t accepted and liked by people even though he was to be kind and helpful. People always hate him because of his ugly appearance. Everyone despised him and shrink back when they saw him, including his master. All this caused the hostility in his heart and he started cursing all humanity and swore vengeance on everyone.

Secondly, I think the mad scientist also had his own responsibility. His idea was too astonishing that few people would accept. If he didn’t come up with the idea to create a living monster, there wouldn’t be so much sadness,

Everything has its own reason whenever and wherever it happened.
