After reading this book, I feel sorry for all characters in this book, Frankenstein, Elizabeth, Henry, especially for the monster. Because of the cruelty of the people, he became cruel too. Even when he wanted to do something good, people who saw him always hated him.

The monster thought the Felix’s family may be kind and friendly, so he asked for help. However, he was refused. I don’t think they were kind enough. They get him out without giving him a chance to explain and they ruined the monster’s last hope. When Mr. de Lacey said ‘how could you know? Who are you?’ I feel sad and I can feel the monster’s hopelessness. He was chased out of the house. All of this caused him to kill people, to harm Frankenstein directly.

When the monster was brought about, he was kind and innocent. He was like a child who needed to be taught, but no one helped him just because of his ugliness. He was anguished and was despised by everybody even he meant them no harm.

It was people’s cruelty that made him cruel. They made him trapped in distress and agony. He was just a poor child who needed to be taken care of, but his creator left him alone. Everyone kept away from him.

In my opinion, the monster is a product made by the cruelty of people. All ‘evil’ is to ‘live’ and the ‘god’ can also be a ‘dog’. He is a reflection to the negative side of people’s soul. What we need to do is do our best to concern about others around us, to reduce the cruelty, to increase the love.

Miachel Jackson had a song named ‘Heal the World’. ‘Heal the world, make it a better place, for you and for me… there are people dying, if you care enough for the living, make it a better place for you and for me.’
