1.学习有关古代文明的词汇和表达法。   

2.理解正式和非正式英语的区别。           

3.语法:宾语补足语。

 

【知识重点与学习难点】

一、            重要单词:

civilization, volcano, erupt, commercial, institute, remains, magnificent, heritage, parallel, structure, statue, society, expedition, lava, pour, archaeologist, archaeology, archaeological, mosaic, binoculars, destroy, gradually, enormous, historical, historic, wealthy, , patience, excerpt.

 

二、重点词组: .

the Hanging Garden空中花园, the Statue of Zeus宙斯神像, cultural heritage文化遗产, historical even历史事件, the site of…的遗址, go to a lecture去听讲作, take over接管, ruins of…的废墟, run through穿过, be buried alive被活埋, dig for treasure财宝, stepping stone垫脚石,跳板, stopping point中途停留的地点, Silk Road丝绸之路, get a close look at靠近仔细观看, be involved in参与, agree with….in number在单复数方面于一致, drive sb crazy让某人发疯, be off to动身去.

 

三、【语法】

英语中有些及物动词接了宾语之后还需接宾语补足语来补充说明宾语的有关情况,否则句子意思就不完整。宾语和宾语补足语合称为"复合宾语"宾语和宾语补足语之间有逻辑上的主谓关系。句子结构为:"主语+及物动词+宾语+宾语补足语"。能作宾语补足语的有名词、形容词、现在分词、过去分词、动词不定式、介词短语等。

能跟宾语补足语的动词有一下几类:

1.表示“使成为、使变得, 使处于 等意思, keep保持, get使, , make使, push推,paint漆成,leave使.. 处于..状态,wear样的头发、胡须,set等。例如:

We put the food under the shade to keep it cool.

She always wears her hair short.

Leave the windows open when you go out.

We got up early to get the job done.

They never found out who set the house on fire.

2. 表示“使动或看见,听见某人做某事”,tell告诉, want想要. wish希望, would like想要, get使, ask要求, teach教,see看见, hear听见, feel感觉, watch看等感官动词.例如:

Would you like me to get you a cup of tea?

Tom taught his little brother to read and write.

I heard him singing in his room just now.

I saw her take your wallet.

3. 表示“以为,发现, 证明”的动词,如think, find, consider, hold, prove等,例如:

We find it pleasant to stay outdoors in spring.

I consider it my duty to help students learn to study on their own.

He proved himself an outstanding actor.

I will hold you responsible for the safety of my family.

4. 表示“叫做、选为”,make, call, namedeclare, elect等,例如:

The judge declared him not guilty and set him free.

They named this bridge Golden Gate Bridge.

Don’t make her the spokeswoman; she is too shy.

He was made emperor by his generals.

symbolize vt.象征, 用符号表现

vi.作为...的象征, 采用象征, 使用符号,

signify vt.表示, 意味 vi.要紧, 有重要性
